COTIS is a wearable AI companion built for the kids the world wasn't designed for — neurodivergent kids, anxious kids, kids who learn differently, kids who need a quieter way to navigate a loud day.
We started COTIS because the existing tools weren't built for these kids. Phones are too much. Watches are distracting. AI companions on a screen pull attention away from the world instead of helping a child engage with it. We wanted something simpler, gentler, and physically present — something a child can press when they need help, and a parent can trust completely.
Three buttons. Three jobs.
COTIS does three things, and only three things:
- Ask — answers a child's spoken question in age-appropriate language.
- Translate — translates between languages, in real time, on the body.
- Calm — guides a child through a calming exercise when the world becomes too much.
No social feed. No camera. No screen. No advertising. No always-on microphone. Just three buttons, and a parent in charge of everything behind them.
Who it's for
COTIS is designed first for autistic kids, kids with ADHD, kids with sensory processing differences, kids with anxiety, kids with language delays, and kids in dual-language households. The same design choices that make COTIS work for these kids — simplicity, predictability, the calm voice, the on-body form factor — make it work beautifully for any child who needs a gentler companion.
And it's built for the adults in their lives. COTIS lives inside a parent-or-guardian account model. The grown-ups decide what the device can do, see what it has done, and stay in the loop on everything.
Who we are
COTIS is a product of Fly With Byrd, Inc., a small, independent company based in Ketchum, Idaho. We are parents, designers, engineers, and clinicians who think kids deserve tools that take their inner lives seriously.
